ILO and stakeholders in four economies in the Western Balkans discuss implementation of approaches and practices that ensure a safe workplace
On 21 July 2020, the Employment and Social Affairs Platform 2 (ESAP 2), implemented by the ILO and funded by the European Union, supported a webinar on “Occupational, Safety and Health (OSH) and Safe Return to Work” with the participation of 28 stakeholders (12 female and 16 male) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. Participants shared challenges and practices related to enforcing OSH standards in the workplace during the Covid-19 pandemic including industries that are affected by undeclared work. ILO experts shared approaches and practices that ensure an effective workplace response and preparedness to prevent and mitigate effects of Covid-19 at work. This seminar emphasized the need for the continued exchange of knowledge and practices in the field of labour inspections and clearer and uniform procedures of labour inspections aiming to uncover undeclared work and unsafe work practices.
