European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) was proclaimed by the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission at the Gothenburg Summit in 2017. The Pillar sets out 20 key principles to do with:
- Equal opportunities and access to the labour market;
- Fair working conditions; and
- Social protection and inclusion), all aimed at strengthening social dimension of Europe that is fair, inclusive and full of opportunity in the 21st century.
Monitoring the progress on the EPSR was extended to the Western Balkan economies starting in 2018. To this end the Regional Cooperation Council’s (RCC) Employment and Social Affairs Platform 2 (ESAP 2) project follows the progress in EPSR’s implementation in the Western Balkans, and so far it has prepared two sets of reports (regional overview and individual economies’ ones) presenting the key findings for the years 2020 and 2021.
The campaign “We’ve all got a story to tell†is an awareness-raising campaign, launched in 2022, featuring ordinary citizens from the Western Balkans and their take on social issues affecting their everyday lives. Meet Enri, Amra, Granita, Ivica, Elena and Milan, and hear their stories about youth (un)employment, equal opportunities, Roma inclusion, education, entrepreneurship, work-life balance, digital access, upskilling, pension, health care, etc.
