Undeclared work at the EU level is defined as "any paid activities that are lawful as regards their nature, but not declared to public authorities”.

In the Western Balkans it is a widespread phenomenon and according to estimates its rate goes as high as 30% in some of the region’s economies. Informal employment is a persisting challenge that negatively affects entire societies -  workers, businesses and governments.

The following video produced by the RCC ESAP 2, available in all languages spoken in the Western Balkans as well, compares declared and undeclared employment from different perspectives (workers’, employers’, clients/entrepreneurs’, and inspections’), underlining the benefits of the declared work.
